What is your take on the non-literal symbolic interpretation of Genesis given in this article? Was there an Adam and Eve, a Garden, a forbidden fruit, a Fall, etc., or is it all symbolic of other actual events? The Nova program that aired a couple months ago also depicted this same view.

I haven't really thought much about it. However, I think this type of stuff is rather like trying to translate poetry into mathematics. It's a completely different system of thought and language. Of course, it is quite possible for something to be a real event, and be highly symbolic at the same time.
